Advantages of Gear Flowmeters

Gear flowmeters are positive displacement flow measurement instruments with outstanding performance in terms of measurement accuracy, viscous medium adaptability and installation flexibility, making them especially suitable for industrial scenarios requiring strict metering precision. Their core advantages are as follows:

Ultra-high Measurement Accuracy and Repeatability, Meeting Trade Settlement Requirements

Based on the mechanical metering principle of fixed-volume chambers, their measurement accuracy is not significantly affected by medium flow rate or pressure fluctuations. The typical accuracy can reach ±0.2%~±0.5%R, with a repeatability error ≤±0.1%. This feature makes them the preferred instruments for trade settlement scenarios such as refined oil, lubricating oil, and high-value chemical raw material metering.

Strong Adaptability to High-viscosity Media, Outperforming Velocity-type Flowmeters

Unlike velocity-type flowmeters (e.g., vortex and electromagnetic flowmeters) whose accuracy declines when measuring high-viscosity media, gear flowmeters maintain stable performance when measuring media with viscosity ranging from 10 to 1,000,000 mPa·s. They can accurately meter viscous media including heavy oil, resin, syrup and grease. Moreover, the higher the medium viscosity, the better the meshing tightness of the gears, and the smaller the metering error.

Excellent Low-flow Measurement Performance with Wide Turndown Ratio

With a turndown ratio of 1:10~1:50, they can not only accurately measure large-flow medium transmission conditions, but also stably capture tiny flow changes under low-flow conditions. They are particularly suitable for precision batching and small-flow continuous filling scenarios in the chemical and food industries.

Lenient Installation Requirements with Low Dependence on Pipeline Conditions

They do not require long straight pipe sections to stabilize the flow field, and can be directly installed near pipeline accessories such as elbows and valves, even in narrow spaces. This greatly reduces the difficulty of on-site pipeline layout and saves installation space and reconstruction costs.

Robust Structure Resistant to High-pressure Working Conditions

The meter body is mostly made of high-strength materials such as stainless steel and cast steel, capable of withstanding working pressures up to 6.4MPa or even higher. They are suitable for industrial high-pressure scenarios such as hydraulic systems and high-pressure fuel transmission, featuring strong operational stability.
