Ultrasonic level meters are non-contact liquid level measuring devices based on the ultrasonic ranging principle. Featuring wide application scenarios, easy installation and maintenance, they are widely used in industries, water conservancy, chemical engineering and other fields. Their core advantages are as follows:
1. Non-contact measurement with high safety and no wear
The sensor probe does not make direct contact with the measured medium, avoiding corrosion, abrasion, adhesion or contamination caused by the medium. It is particularly suitable for measuring hazardous or corrosive media such as strong acids, strong alkalis, high-viscosity, crystallizable and volatile substances. Meanwhile, it prevents contamination of clean media in food, pharmaceutical and other industries. In addition, the probe has no mechanical wear, ensuring a longer service life.
2. Easy installation and strong adaptability
It supports flexible installation methods including top mounting and side wall mounting, eliminating the need for tank structure modification or complex pipeline reconstruction. This reduces construction period and costs significantly. It has loose requirements for installation environments, resisting large fluctuations in medium temperature (standard range: -40℃~150℃) and pressure (atmospheric or medium-low pressure), and adapting to complex working conditions such as dust and fog.
3. Wide measurement range and stable accuracy
It covers a broad measuring range, from a minimum of 3m to a maximum of 40m, meeting the liquid level measurement needs of various tanks and pools. Its measurement accuracy is less affected by medium properties: as long as the medium surface can reflect ultrasonic signals, it maintains stable accuracy (standard accuracy up to ±0.25%FS) with excellent linearity and high data repeatability.
4. High intelligence and low maintenance costs
Modern ultrasonic level meters are mostly integrated with microprocessors, equipped with functions like automatic temperature compensation, intelligent echo signal recognition and fault self-diagnosis. These functions can automatically eliminate interference signals and reduce measurement errors. Daily maintenance only requires periodic cleaning of the probe surface, without frequent calibration or spare parts replacement. The operation and maintenance cost is significantly lower than that of contact-type level meters (e.g., float-type and differential pressure-type).
5. Good compatibility and easy system integration
It supports multiple standard signal outputs such as 4-20mA and RS485 (Modbus protocol), which can be directly connected to control systems like PLC, DCS and industrial computers. This enables remote monitoring, data logging and automatic control, meeting the digital upgrading needs of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
