Can Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flowmeters Measure Milk?

Clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters can generally measure milk, the reasons as below.

1. Fluid Property Compatibility
Milk is a low-viscosity liquid with minimal bubbles or solid particles, aligning with the basic fluid requirements for clamp-on flowmeters (minimal acoustic scattering interference).
Homogenized liquid milk (e.g., pasteurized milk, UHT milk), free of significant stratification or coagulation, allows stable measurements with clamp-on devices.

2. Non-Contact Advantages
Clamp-on probes install externally on pipeline walls, avoiding fluid contact, which eliminates risks of probe contamination or corrosion. This meets hygienic standards in the food industry (no pipeline disruption reduces contamination risks).

3. Installation Convenience
No need for shutdown or pipeline piercing, making it suitable for online real-time monitoring in food processing (e.g., production line pipelines), especially in scenarios where intrusive installation is prohibited (e.g., stainless steel clean pipes).
