Pipe material affects the propagation of ultrasonic signals through the pipe wall. Different materials have different acoustic properties, which influence signal strength and measurement accuracy. Common materials such as HDPE, PVC,, stainless steel, carbon steel, copper are generally suitable, provided the correct pipe parameters (material, outer diameter, wall thickness, and lining) are properly configured in the transmitter. Pipes with heavy corrosion, scaling, or thick linings may attenuate the ultrasonic signal and reduce measurement accuracy.
