I. Material and Inner Wall
Suitable Materials: Metals (steel/cast iron/stainless steel), plastics (PVC/PE), glass, and other acoustically transparent materials.
Inner Wall: Avoid severe corrosion or scaling (signal attenuation risk). Roughness ≤0.5mm. Non-metal materials must be homogeneous without bubbles.
II. Diameter and Wall Thickness
Diameter Range: DN20–DN6000. High-frequency probes for small diameters; multi-path technology for large diameters.
Wall Thickness: Metal ≤50mm; non-metal ≤100mm (thicker walls require higher power or insert-type installation).
III. Linings and Coatings
Linings: Uniform linings (e.g., rubber/PTFE) allowed, must be tightly bonded without delamination. Known thickness (compensation supported).
Coatings: Exterior coatings ≤5mm thick, smooth and hollow-free (critical for probe coupling).
IV. Installation and Fluid Conditions
Straight Pipe Runs: Upstream ≥10D (≥20D near disturbances), downstream ≥5D. Prioritize vertical pipes (upward flow).
Fluid Limits: Suitable for clean liquids or low-solid/gas fluids (particles ≤100mg/L, ≤1mm; bubbles ≤5%). Avoid gases, steam, or pulsating flows.
V. Temperature and Pressure
Temperature: Standard probes: -35°C–200°C. High-temperature applications require specialized probes or cooling systems.
Pressure: Theoretically unrestricted, but ensure secure probe mounting and leak-free walls for high-pressure pipelines.
