Ultrasonic Flowmeter Based on the Area-Velocity Method
The velocity and liquid level sensor using the area-velocity method integrates the measurement of flow velocity and liquid level. The measurement of flow velocity adopts the ultrasonic Doppler principle. When measuring the liquid level, the sensor is placed at the bottom of the water area or nearby. Through the hydrostatic pressure sensor, the power signal cable has the function of ventilation. The atmospheric pressure above the water surface is taken as the reference pressure for the hydrostatic pressure sensor to measure the fluid pressure, so as to calculate the liquid level height.
The ultrasonic flowmeter based on the area-velocity method is suitable for measurement in open channels or non-full pipes with a diameter larger than 300mm for discharging sewage and wastewater, clean streams, drinking water, and seawater.
