Ultrasonic flowmeter precautions

Installation aspect
Pipeline condition
It is necessary to ensure that the material of the pipeline under test is uniform and smooth, and there is no obvious deformation, scaling, corrosion, etc., otherwise the propagation and reflection of the ultrasonic signal may be affected, resulting in measurement errors.
The fluid in the pipeline should flow full pipe, and the flow rate distribution is relatively stable and uniform. Avoid installation near the elbow, valve, reducer, etc. Generally, the length of the upstream straight pipe section is not less than 10 times the diameter of the pipe, and the length of the downstream straight pipe section is not less than 5 times the diameter of the pipe.
Installation position
Choose a location that is easy to install, debug and maintain, and there should be no strong electromagnetic interference sources around, such as large motors, transformers, etc., so as not to interfere with the signal transmission and processing of ultrasonic flowmeters.
According to the pipe material, pipe diameter, fluid characteristics and other factors, reasonable selection of installation methods, such as Z method, V method, W method, etc. Small diameter pipe can choose V method or Z method; More accurate measurement results can be obtained by using W method for large diameter pipelines.
Probe installation
Before installation, clean the installation part of the outer wall of the pipeline thoroughly to remove impurities such as oil and rust, and ensure that the probe is in close and uniform contact with the surface of the pipeline to reduce signal attenuation.
Install the probe in strict accordance with the spacing and Angle required by the instruction manual, and use a special fixture or glue to fix it to ensure firm installation and prevent the probe from loosening and shifting during operation.
