Comparison with Other Flowmeters
Compared with electromagnetic flowmeters: It has the advantages of being able to measure non-conductive fluids, being able to measure lower flow rates, being installable online, and having a price advantage for large-diameter pipes.
Compared with differential pressure flow instruments: It has the features of no signal transmission error (which is the most common cause of differential pressure failures), being able to measure dirty, viscous, toxic, and corrosive fluids, having high measurement accuracy, no pressure loss, simple installation, and low daily maintenance requirements.
Compared with Coriolis mass flowmeters: There is no pressure loss (Coriolis flowmeters have significant pressure loss), it can measure dirty fluids, has a stable zero point (the zero point of Coriolis flowmeters is prone to drift), is not affected by installation stress, and is not restricted by the pipe diameter (for Coriolis flowmeters, the diameter is usually ≤DN300). However, the accuracy of Coriolis flowmeters is higher than that of ultrasonic ones.
Compared with vortex street flowmeters: It can measure lower flow rates, is not restricted by the pipe diameter (for vortex street flowmeters, the diameter is usually ≤DN300), has good seismic resistance, can measure dirty, viscous, and corrosive fluids, can be installed online, and has high measurement accuracy.
