What kind of pipe is the ultrasonic flowmeter suitable for ?

Ultrasonic flowmeter has a certain adaptability to pipeline materials, the following are some suitable for ultrasonic flowmeter measurement of pipeline materials:
Metal piping
Carbon steel pipe: has good strength and toughness, relatively low price, widely used. The propagation speed of ultrasonic wave in carbon steel is stable, the signal attenuation is small, and the ultrasonic flowmeter can be accurately measured. In various fluid transportation systems in petroleum, chemical, electric power and other industries, such as crude oil transportation pipelines, steam pipelines, etc., carbon steel pipelines are often used, which is suitable for using ultrasonic flow meters for flow measurement.
Stainless steel pipe: has excellent corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, can maintain stable performance in harsh environments. Ultrasonic transmission characteristics in stainless steel is good, suitable for food, pharmaceutical, chemical and other industries with high requirements for health and corrosion resistance, such as infusion pipes in drug production, and material transportation pipes in food processing.
Copper and copper alloy pipes: have good thermal and electrical conductivity, and good corrosion resistance. Ultrasonic propagation speed in copper and copper alloy, high signal transmission quality, often used in some applications requiring high accuracy of flow measurement, such as coolant delivery pipes in the electronics industry, refrigerant pipes in air conditioning systems, etc.

Non-metal pipe
Plastic pipes: such as polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and other plastic pipes, with light weight, corrosion resistance, good insulation properties and other advantages. The propagation characteristics of ultrasonic wave in plastics can also meet the measurement requirements, which is suitable for non-drinking water pipes in urban water supply and drainage systems, and some corrosive media transportation pipes in the chemical industry, especially in some occasions with high cost and corrosion resistance requirements.
Fiberglass pipe: composed of glass fiber and resin, with high strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance and other characteristics. When the ultrasonic wave propagates in the fiberglass pipe, the signal can be transmitted better, and it can be used in the sewage conveying pipe of the sewage treatment plant, the tailings slurry conveying pipe of the mining industry, etc., which can achieve reliable flow measurement in the harsh working environment.

Composite pipeline
Steel-plastic composite pipe: the strength of the steel pipe and the corrosion resistance of the plastic are combined together, and the transmission of ultrasonic waves in this composite material also has a good performance. In some occasions that require pipelines to have a certain strength and good corrosion resistance, such as building water supply and drainage systems, chemical and petroleum transportation of some specific pipelines, etc., steel-plastic composite pipes with ultrasonic flowmeters can achieve better measurement results.
Aluminum-plastic composite pipe: combined with the strength of aluminum and the corrosion resistance of plastic, flexibility and other advantages, ultrasonic waves in which the propagation of the material is less affected by the material, can be used in home decoration in the hot and cold water pipeline system, some small industrial equipment fluid transport pipeline, ultrasonic flow meter can accurately measure its internal fluid flow.
