Possible causes and solutions include:
- Paint or rust on the pipe exterior not fully removed: Re-clean the pipe surface before reinstalling the sensor.
- Uneven pipe surface or installation over a weld seam: Polish the pipe surface or install the sensor away from weld seams.
- Poor pipe roundness, rough inner surface, presence of pipe lining, or scaling (common in cast iron pipes): Use pipes with smooth inner surfaces (e.g., steel pipes) or avoid areas with linings.
- Ultra-pure measured medium or excessively low solid suspension content: Select other suitable types of meters.
- Sensor installed on fiberglass pipes: Remove the fiberglass layer at the installation site.
- Sensor installed on pipe sleeves: Relocate the sensor to a pipe section without sleeves (as sleeves weaken ultrasonic signals).
- Poor coupling between the sensor and the pipe (gaps or air bubbles on the coupling surface): Reinstall the sensor and reapply coupling agent.
