1. V Mode (V Installation)
V installation is the most widely used standard installation method.
The two sensors are mounted on the same side of the pipeline. The ultrasonic signal is transmitted from one sensor, reflected once on the opposite pipe inner wall, and then received by the other sensor.
This mode features simple operation, moderate sensor spacing, stable signal and high measurement precision.
It is mainly applicable to pipelines with medium and small diameters, clean liquid media and conventional working conditions.
2. Z Mode (Z Installation)
Under Z installation, two sensors are installed on opposite sides of the pipeline in a straight line.
Ultrasonic signals penetrate the fluid directly in a straight line without reflection inside the pipe.
It has strong signal penetration and anti-interference performance.
This method is perfect for large-diameter pipelines, high-flow pipelines, and liquids containing plenty of bubbles, sediment and suspended impurities. It can effectively guarantee accurate measurement under complex water quality conditions.
3. W Mode (W Installation)
In W installation, ultrasonic waves reflect twice inside the pipeline before being received.
The required installation distance between two sensors is much shorter than V mode.
It is specially designed for small-diameter pipelines and sites with narrow installation space where standard V-type installation cannot be arranged. It is widely used in fine pipelines and compact industrial pipe networks.
4. N Mode (N Installation)
N installation means the ultrasonic signal reflects three times inside the pipeline.
It needs the shortest mounting distance between sensors among all four modes.
This installation way is only used for ultra-small diameter pipelines with extremely limited installation space. It solves the installation difficulty of tiny pipes that cannot adopt other conventional installation methods.
Selection Guidelines
- Choose V Mode: Most common pipes, normal medium, regular site space
- Choose Z Mode: Large diameter pipe, turbid liquid, more bubbles and impurities
- Choose W Mode: Small diameter pipe, narrow installation space
- Choose N Mode: Ultra-small diameter pipeline with extremely limited space
