Best for: General‑purpose, low‑to‑moderate corrosion, aqueous media, and slurry with mild abrasion.
Temperature: Typically ‑10 °C to +80 °C (short excursions to 90 °C).
Corrosion: Resists fresh water, wastewater, seawater, sewage, weak acids/bases (pH 4–10), and oils.
Abrasion: Moderate; suitable for mild slurry, paper pulp, mine tailings (low solids).
Pressure: Up to PN16–PN25 (1.6–2.5 MPa).
Limitations: Not for strong acids, strong bases, solvents, or high temperature; swells in hydrocarbons.

2. PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene, Teflon®)
Best for: Strongly corrosive media, high temperature, and non‑abrasive fluids.
Temperature: ‑40 °C to +130 °C (standard); ‑200 °C to +200 °C (peak, limited time).
Corrosion: Excellent—resists concentrated acids (HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃), strong bases (NaOH, KOH), oxidizers (NaClO, H₂O₂), and most organic solvents.
Abrasion: Poor—avoid high solids, sand, or hard particles.
Pressure: Up to PN25 (2.5 MPa); not for vacuum/negative pressure (risk of collapse).
Limitations: Brittle, low abrasion resistance, poor vacuum tolerance; attacked by molten alkali metals, fluorine gas, ClF₃.
Industries: Chemical processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, plating, wastewater (highly corrosive).
3. PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy, “Modified PTFE”)
Best for: High‑purity, high‑temperature, and strongly corrosive applications (upgrade over PTFE).
Temperature: ‑40 °C to +180 °C (continuous); short peaks to 200 °C.
Corrosion: Equal to PTFE—resists all media compatible with PTFE; ultra‑low metal ion leaching (<1 ppb).
Abrasion: Better than PTFE (still moderate); suitable for low‑to‑moderate solids.
Pressure: Up to PN40 (4.0 MPa); excellent vacuum/negative pressure resistance.
Mechanical: Flexible, tough, creep‑resistant; can be thermally bonded to the tube (no delamination); transparent/translucent option available.
Compliance: FDA, 3‑A, EHEDG, ASME BPE (hygienic/high‑purity standards).
Limitations: Higher cost (3–5× PTFE); same chemical exceptions as PTFE.
Industries: Semiconductor (ultra‑pure water/chemicals), biotech/pharmaceutical (sterile/CIP/SIP), food/beverage (high‑temp sanitization), solar, and advanced chemical processes.
