When our flow meter measure this chemical liquid,it is necessary to input the sound velocity of this liquid by manual,due to the transmitter of our meter is no option of certain chemical fluids.
In general, it is difficult to obtain the sound velocity of special chemical media. In this case,it needs to estimate the sound velocity using transit-time ultrasonic flowmeter.
The procedures as followed.
1) M11-M16 menu: to set the right pipeline parameter
2) M23 to choose the transducer type, M24 to choose the installation way to ultrasonic transducers;
3) In M20 Menu,to choose “ Other” for fluid type,in M21 to input 1482 for the sound velocity of fluid,in M22 menu, to keep the default figure as 1.0038;
4) To install transducers / probes according to the installation distance suggested by M25 menu and enter into M90 menu to adjust the sensor spacing to maximize the S and Q values and stabilize them.
5) Enter M92 menu to record the sound speed estimated by instrument, and input this value to M21 menu.
6) Repeat steps 4-5 until the estimated sound velocity displayed in M92 menu is close to that entered in M21 menu, then the estimation of the sound velocity of special chemical medium is completed, and then the flow measurement of special chemical medium can be started.
