1. Introduction

Lanry Ultrawater Series Inline Ultrasonic Bulk Water Meter is a pipeline type transit-time ultrasonic measuring instrument, developed for municipal water supply, industrial circulating water, port coastal water pipelines, hydrological monitoring and naval water metering scenarios. Equipped with dual-channel ultrasonic sensor, SUS304 stainless steel body and IP68 full waterproof design, this meter has no mechanical moving parts, delivering ultra-wide turndown ratio, bidirectional flow detection and 15-year battery service life, fully meeting long-term unattended monitoring requirements of maritime supervision, environmental protection and water management departments.

3. Working Principle

This bulk water meter adopts dual-channel transit-time ultrasonic principle. Two groups of ultrasonic sensors send and receive acoustic signals mutually. The controller calculates the time difference of ultrasonic waves propagating along and against the liquid flow direction, converts time difference into fluid velocity, and computes instantaneous flow and cumulative total flow combined with pipeline cross-sectional area. Without rotating components, it causes zero pressure loss and avoids blockage, perfectly suited for clean conductive water measurement in ports, rivers and municipal pipe networks.

4. Technical Parameters

The nominal diameter of this ultrasonic water meter covers DN50, DN65, DN80, DN100, DN150, DN250 and DN300, with an ultra-wide turndown ratio Q3:Q1 up to 500:1. Its maximum working pressure reaches 1.6 MPa. The applicable working temperature ranges from -25℃ to 55℃, and the allowable ambient humidity is less than or equal to 100% relative humidity. The whole meter reaches IP68 protection grade, and the flowmeter body is made of SUS304 stainless steel with good corrosion resistance. It is powered by built-in DC3.6V disposable lithium battery, whose service life can reach more than 15 years. A 9-bit local LCD screen is equipped to display all operation data and alarm signals. The internal storage can record 10 years of historical flow data sorted by year, month and day. RS485 Modbus is the standard communication interface, supporting multiple baud rates including 2400, 4800, 9600 and 19200. Optional signal and communication outputs include M-Bus, LoRa, NB-IoT, 4-20mA, pulse with default parameter of 2ml per pulse, and GPRS. The meter is applicable for medium such as tap water, river water, seawater and industrial clean conductive water.
