- For clamp on transit time ultrasonic flow-meter, V and Z method are recommended.
Theoretically, when the pipe diameter is from 50mm to 200mm, We usually recommend you to use V method to install it. As for other pipe diameters, we suggest you use Z method to install it.
If there exists some reasons like too large or small pipelines, inner pipewall is too thick or scaling, there is suspended matter in the measuring medium, V method installation will result in weak ultrasonic signal, the instrument can not work normally, it is necessary to choose Z method installation, the characteristic of using Z method is ultrasonic direct transmission in the pipeline, no reflection, the signal attenuation is small.
When the pipe is partially or largely buried, it shall be installed by V method.
Besides V and Z method, the another installation is W method, but almost no one use this installation method anymore.
2. For insertion transit time ultrasonic flow-meter, Z method is recommended.
