Ultrasonic water meters are designed to measure liquid flow using ultrasonic transit-time technology. They are suitable for a wide range of clean and moderately contaminated liquids.
✅ Suitable Media
1. Clean Water
• Drinking water
• Tap water
• Purified water
• Deionized (DI) water
2. Industrial Water
• Cooling water
• Circulating water
• Boiler feed water
3. Wastewater (Limited Conditions)
• Lightly contaminated wastewater
• Treated sewage (low solid content)
4. Other Liquids (Depending on Model)
• Some non-corrosive liquids with similar acoustic properties to water
⚠️ Limitations
Ultrasonic water meters may not perform well or may require special models in the following conditions:
• High solid content liquids (e.g., slurry, mud)
• Liquids with many air bubbles
• Highly viscous liquids (e.g., oil, syrup)
• Strongly corrosive liquids (unless specially designed)
These conditions can interfere with ultrasonic signal transmission and reduce measurement accuracy.
