Why ultrasonic flow meter need temperature and pressure compensation being carried out ?

The temperature and pressure changes of the liquid will affect the propagation speed and propagation path of the ultrasonic wave, thus affecting the measurement accuracy of the flowmeter. The influence of temperature is mainly manifested in the propagation speed of ultrasonic waves, and the increase of temperature will lead to the acceleration of ultrasonic waves, while the decrease of temperature will lead to the slow propagation speed. The influence of pressure is mainly manifested in the ultrasonic propagation path. When the liquid pressure increases, the ultrasonic propagation path will bend, thus affecting the sensitivity and measurement accuracy of the sensor. Therefore, if the temperature and pressure compensation is not carried out, the measurement error of the ultrasonic flowmeter will be large.
