Will rain, fog, dust, or foam affect the radar level meter?

Radar level meters use microwave signals for measurement. They have strong penetration and excellent anti-interference ability, and are much more stable than ultrasonic level meters in harsh environments.

1. Rain
No significant influence.Raindrops are scattered small particles and cause very little reflection or attenuation of microwaves.The radar can penetrate the rain and measure the true liquid level normally.

2. Fog, high humidity, condensation
Almost no influence.Fog consists of tiny water droplets and has little effect on microwave signals.As long as the antenna is not covered by a large amount of water, the meter works reliably in foggy and humid environments.

3. Dust and slight vapor
Little to no influence.Dust floating in the air does not block microwave signals.Only if thick dust accumulates on the antenna over a long period may the signal weaken slightly, which can be solved by regular cleaning.

4. Foam
Depends on foam thickness:
Thin & loose foam: Microwaves can penetrate it, no obvious interference.
Thick & dense foam: May reflect microwaves, causing the meter to read the foam surface as the liquid level, resulting in a higher measured value.
Solution: Enable foam suppression / false echo suppression function on the radar.

Radar level meters are NOT affected by rain, fog, dust, or humidity.
Only thick, dense foam on the liquid surface may cause interference, which can be solved by parameter settings.
Overall, radar is one of the most reliable measurement methods for harsh working conditions.
