How to Get Signal for Transit- time Flowmeter When No Pipeline

When user is in no pipeline environment and wants to test our Transit- time Flowmeter, user can operate as follow steps:

1. Connect  transducers to transmitter.

 2. Menu Setup

    Note: No matter what kind of transducer customers bought, the menu setup of transmitter follows the below operations.

    a. Menu 11, enter the pipe outside diameter 10mm, and then press the ENTER key.

    b. Menu 12, enter pipe wall thickness “4mm

    c.Menu 14, select pipe material “0. Carbon steel”

    d. Menu 16, select liner material “0. No liner”

    e. Menu 20, select fluid type “0. Water”

    f. Menu 23, select transducer type “5. Plug-in B45”

    g. Menu 24, select transducer-mounting method “1. Z-method”

3. Put a little couplant on transducer/sensor, and rub the two transducers shown as picture.

4. Check menu 91 and adjust the distance of the two sensors to let the TOM/TOS=(+/-)97-103%.

5. Keep the transducers status shown as above, and then view the S and Q value in Menu 01.Use MENU 01 to observe the signal strength and quality. Generally, the meter will display good signal strength and quality by appropriate adjustment, and the signal quality (Q valve) sometimes can reach to 90.

6. How to judge the flow meter system

    a. If the two S values are larger then 60, and the difference of the two values is smaller than 10, it means the system is working well.

    b. If the two S values have a great difference which is larger than 10, or there is one S value is 0, it means the wirings or transducers have problem.

       Check the wirings. If the wirings are OK, customers need replace the transducers or send them back for repair.

   c. If the two S values are both 0, it means the transmitter or transducers have problem.

      Check the wirings, if the wirings are OK, customers need replace the meter or send it back for repair.
