ENGINEERING SELECTION GUIDE

Portable Ultrasonic Flow Meter: The TF1100-CH series Handheld solution

No pipe cutting. No system shutdown. Portable clamp-on flow measurement on existing pipelines.

1. What Makes the TF1100‑CH Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter Stand Out?

The TF1100‑CH adopts advanced transit‑time technology for high‑precision flow measurement. As a battery‑powered non‑invasive handheld unit, its clamp‑on transducers mount externally on pipe surfaces without pipe cutting or modification. Free from direct media contact, it delivers reliable, fouling‑free measurement for diverse liquids including potable water, chemicals, sewage and cooling water, unlike traditional inline flow meters.

2. Key Features of the TF1100‑CH Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter

14 hours rechargeable battery, back-lit 4-line display
Built-in data logger function
Mobile measurement, flow calibration & meter status checking
Non-invasive clamp-on transducers
Bi-directional flow:0.01~12m/s; Temp:-35°C~200°C
Works for clean & slightly turbid liquids (<10000ppm)
Lightweight, portable with carrying case

3. How Does the TF1100‑CH Transit‑Time Ultrasonic Flow Meter Work?

Different from Doppler ultrasonic flow meters, the TF1100‑CH transit‑time flow meter uses two transducers acting as both ultrasonic transmitters and receivers, clamped externally on a closed pipe at a specific distance. It calculates liquid velocity by measuring the transit time difference of ultrasonic bursts sent between the two sensors. Three installation methods can be selected according to pipe and liquid conditions:

V-method

Ultrasonic beam travels across the pipe twice. Most commonly used for standard pipe sizes.

W-method

Sound wave crosses the pipe four times, suitable for small diameter pipelines.

Z-method

Transducers fitted on opposite sides, sound passes through the pipe once. Ideal for large pipes or high turbidity media.

4. Where Can the TF1100‑CH Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter Be Applied?

Thanks to its unique transit‑time measuring principle, the TF1100‑CH performs excellently in many scenarios where conventional flow meters encounter limitations. It is widely adopted across these industrial sectors:

Water & Waste‑Water Hot water, cooling water, potable water, sea water
Petrochemical Process liquid measurement for petrochemical industry
Chemical Industry Chlorine, alcohol, acids, thermal oils
HVAC & Refrigeration Refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems
Food, Beverage & Pharma Liquid monitoring for food, beverage and pharmaceutical production
Power Generation Nuclear, thermal & hydropower plants, boiler feed water
Handheld Ultrasonic Flow Meter application

5. In Summary: Why Choose the TF1100‑CH?

Measuring Principle & Installation
Adopting advanced transit‑time technology, the TF1100‑CH realizes high‑precision flow measurement. Non‑invasive external‑mount transducers need no pipe modification and never touch measured media, delivering easy installation and non‑fouling operation.
On‑Site Mobile Capability
It is fitted with long‑life rechargeable battery and built‑in data logging function. Wide adaptability for flow velocity, temperature and liquid turbidity enables flexible mobile measurement and diverse field‑work tasks.
Industrial Versatility
Benefiting from great chemical resistance and stable reliable performance, this handheld flow meter works well for water treatment, petrochemical, food & pharmaceutical, power supply and other sectors, acting as a practical multi‑purpose flow‑measuring solution.
