What media can vortex flowmeter measure?

Vortex flowmeters support three main types of medium: clean liquid, gas, saturated steam and superheated steam, with clear applicable and non-applicable scenarios as follows.
Applicable liquids
Clean single-phase liquid without large solid particles or viscous impurities, including tap water, circulating cooling water, purified water, light chemical solvents, edible oil, low-viscosity alcohol and weak corrosive liquid (with 316L stainless steel wetted parts).
Key limit: Kinematic viscosity of liquid should be less than 20 mPa·s. High-viscosity liquid will suppress vortex generation and cause signal loss.
Applicable gases
Dry, clean single-phase gas: compressed air, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, natural gas, coal gas, biogas and industrial mixed gas.
Note: If the gas contains a large amount of water mist, oil mist or dust, a filter or separator must be installed upstream to protect the sensor and bluff body from blockage and corrosion.
Applicable steam
Saturated steam and superheated steam widely used in heating and boiler systems. Our high-temperature vortex type can withstand medium temperature up to 350℃, stable for long-term steam metering.
Media NOT suitable for vortex flowmeters
High-viscosity liquid such as heavy oil, glue and syrup;
Liquid with sediment, mud, fiber and massive solid particles, which easily stick to the bluff body and destroy vortex regularity;
Two-phase mixed medium (liquid with a lot of bubbles, gas with heavy liquid droplets);
Strongly corrosive medium like concentrated strong acid and strong alkali (304/316L stainless steel cannot resist long-term erosion);
Medium with easy scaling, which will cover the sensing surface and weaken signals gradually.
